If you follow us on social media, you might have noticed that there have been crickets on our pages for the last few weeks. While we have still been working hard to ensure that we can still take care of as many fans as we can, we have run into some difficulty. More accurately, someone ran into us.
At roughly 1:56 am on Saturday August 17th, 2024, someone driving down Ford Rd lost control of their vehicle, and crashed directly through the front door of our building. By 1:57 the alarm company was calling to see if police needed to be dispatched. By 2:03 the police were on the scene and there was no sign of the driver. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries, and she was the only person involved in the crash. But the adventure was just beginning for Carrot Stick Sports, and the salon that we share the building with, 2 Archer Salon.
The girls had to get on the horn early to cancel all of their clients. I was on the phone all weekend with our insurance company and restoration companies. The city and fire department were called to come inspect the building, and they decided to condemn the lower portion of the building, including Carrot Stick Sports, until the wall was temporarily rebuilt. Over the last week and a half the process has continued.
Sometimes, I have wanted to just throw in the towel and accept defeat. After so many years of wanting this and pushing forward trying to do everything I can to appeal to as many fans as I could, maybe this accident was a sign that the dream was over. Other times, I have had a renewed sense of motivation. This might be just the thing to help me create something even better, and tweak the dream just enough to make an impact in the community and for my customers. But it doesn't seem like the answer will be that cut and dry.
We are still dealing with the fallout from this incident, and we do not have definite answers for most things, but we are open for business. We will continue to deal with the insurance company to get back to to fully running as soon as we can. Obviously, with our long term future up in the air, we are in a purchasing freeze for the time being. Because of that, any support that you can give is greatly appreciated. The best way that you can help is by picking up a new mug, silipint or anything else you are interested in, to help us clear out inventory. https://www.carrotsticksports.com/collections/mugs-and-such
Thank you for your support during these troubled times.
